Allison Dinsmore, the former special Ed teacher who was found not guilty in April 2010 for animal cruelty, was arrested Monday for prostitution.

On Monday night Dinsmore was arrested for soliciting sex from an undercover police officer who was posing as a John. The sting operation took place on 2500 block of North Federal Highway in Boynton Beach.

The undercover officer pulled up to Dinsmore who then approached his vehicle, the two began to engage in a conversation in which Dinsmore offered him sex in exchange for money. After the monetary amount was agreed upon, Dinsmore unaware an undercover sting was taking place, proceeded and entered the officer’s vehicle, moments later she was arrested.

Dinsmore was taken to the Palm Beach County jail, and charged with soliciting prostitution. She could face up to 60 days in jail, and fines of up to $500.

In 2009 Dinsmore gained notoriety in the press when she was arrested for leaving behind her two cats to starve to death in her abandoned Boca Raton apartment. According to investigators, the cats had been dead for about a month before an apartment manager uncovered the corpses. The manager also found signs of a frantic search for food and water.

Dinsmore, who taught special needs students at Congress Middle School in Boynton Beach, potentially faced up to 5 years in prison for each count.

In April 2010, after deliberating for five hours, jurors found Allison Dinsmore not guilty of both counts of felony cruelty to animals.
